Filipino Recipe Pork Pochero

Ingredients:

2 lbs. pork hock
4 cups water
2 cloves garlic
1/4 onion
2 pieces plantain banana (sliced diagonal)
1 cabbage (sliced)
1/4 Pork Knorr Cubes
2 tbs. cooking oil
Salt to taste
10 pieces peppercorn

How to cook:

Boil pork.Lower fire and let simmer until all meat is tender.Take out all the meat, set aside, keep stock. In a casserole, saute garlic, onion, then pour in the stock. Bring to a boil, add all meat, banana and peppercorn. Dissolve Knorr cube, and season with salt. Add in the cabbage. Serve hot.

    I had substituted bittermelon leaves for cabbage as an experiment. Used chicken stock instead of Knorr cubes. Added a little bit of red pepper.Tasted like bittersweet puchero, but yummey, especially when hot.
